This rocks. Super mellow and spacey. Some of his other stuff is pretty rad too, check it out on YouTube, love the cover art as well. I can see some Stereolab / Dungen parallels with some of his other tracks like The Blue Rose. Francis Lai – Paris – New-York Label: Warner Bros. Records Catalog#: [...]

Bay Area’s rapper Lil’ B in a three part documentary exploring his use of social media as a promotional tool and his honest philosophies on approaching life. He seems like a pretty likable guy and a down to Earth character. Apparently he really likes the wharf.

Wowzee. World’s largest model railway in Hamburg, Germany and the city’s top tourist attraction. It has a working airport (which cost 3.5 million euro), over 200,000 figurines, and a working police and fire fighting force. This puts the Flemington, NJ Northlands Railway to complete shame. I love how it has working ships and computer controlled [...]

Sounds too good to be true, but it is. Fugazi has recorded almost all their live shows since the band’s inception on cassette, DAT, hard drive and CD-R, and now Dischord Records is releasing the 800 shows, starting with 130 shows December 1st. The shows cost anywhere from $1-$100, depending on how generous you feel. [...]

It was in Paris in 1927 that he created the miniature circus celebrated in this film. The Parisian avant-garde would gather in Calder’s studio to see the circus in operation. This film exudes the great personal charm of Calder himself, moving and working the tiny players like a ringmaster, while his wife winds up the [...]

Love Todd James’ work in this show. The show also features artists Devin Flynn, Ian Flynn, and Billy Grant. The show runs through January 22nd in the Canadian gallery. This is a show amongst friends, some who are actual brothers, all of whom are actually weird. The artists in this show are brothers in art, [...]

Craze… Reminds of one of the enemies in Metal Gear. This record was attempted on the set of our TV show filmed in China but was unsuccessful. The record to beat was set by Vipin Seth (India) who was covered by a mantle of bees weighing 61.4 kg (136 lb 4 oz). It was calculated [...]

Great short by my favorite director David Cronenberg from 2000. Remember kids, a camera is death. A short film David Croneberg made commemorate 25 years of the Toronto film festival. It star Les Carson who plays Barry Convex in Videodrome. This was released as an extra on criterion 2 disk set of videodrome.

Stunning LEGO art by Mike Doyle. Made of 100% LEGO Pieces (no glue, etc.), it took him over 600 hours to create this spooky victorian house and approximately 110-130K pieces. You can purchase fine art prints of the work at Bumble & Bramble, or take a quick gander over to his sister LEGO inspired site [...]

This is amazing how they captured this phenomenon for England’s BBC nature. Check out the full article on BBC. The icy phenomenon is caused by cold, sinking brine, which is more dense than the rest of the sea water. It forms a brinicle as it contacts warmer water below the surface. Mr Miller set up [...]
