Can’t want to get my Legomindstorms NXT 2.0 Kit in the mail, so I can attempt to build stuff like this… Dude built a 3D printer out of his mindstorms and it cuts shapes out of flora foam quite impressively. Major props. Check out his site for more cool lego stuff.

I love Mario and Fafa. In this episode they discuss losing their blog to advertisements and selling Gorilla Popsicles with a lower third.

Kreayshawn leaks nude photos of herself after the MTV VMA awards, where she didn’t win best new artist, but blames it on anti-hollywood “hackers” who took control of her Twitter account. Still doesn’t explain how the hackers got her photos in the first place. According to Kreayshawn, “At least Im puttin A-cups on the map [...]

This song rocks. Played on yesterday’s Bottomless Pit. This has been sampled countless times. I want to say by Digable Planets, but not entirely positive.

The last Grime episode (part three) airs on VBS.TV. This episode explores the “The Grime Style” and his well-roundnesses as an artist, and ability to flip different styles into something cohesive. The film also delves into originality and Grime’s feelings surrounding his self-expression.

Just watched this movie tonight entitled “Zardoz” directed by John Boorman from 1974. Really “out there” film, but worth checking out. I liked the cinemtography, lots of mirrors and tripped out projections. Also has Sean Connery as the main character, who I am a big fan of. Reminded me a bit of Holy Mountain or [...]

Just had our own breed of a Virginia style shaker here in San Francisco. About ten minutes ago, it felt a bit like things shifted over for two seconds, and my cats opened their eyes quickly with their fur standing on end. USGS link. ***UPDATE (12:19PST): They keep changing the link so if it’s broken [...]

Found this movie totally by accident about the history of “Interactive Fiction” and where it is today. If you’ve ever played any Infocom classics like Zork or Wishbringer on an old Apple II or PC, you’ve experienced interactive fiction. In the 1980s they were a bit like a video game, except it was all text [...]

I’ve always wanted to visit here, but never have for some reason. Laughing Squid, recently posted some photos from the beach and sparked my curiositiy. The beach was a public dump from 1949-1967, where people dumped a lot of glass. In 1967 the North Coast Water Quality Board decided this was a bad idea, so [...]

This video is awesome, and so is the sound. Stoked it’s not from Brooklyn. Available on Mannequin records or eMusic. Mannequin is so happy to release under its wings one of the best talents in the minimal synth new scene that you better don’t miss. We are talking about the serbian duo Sixth June – [...]

Hard to believe 1992 was that long ago, the footage in the Smith’s press video makes this look like it was filmed in the 70s. Some nice archival footage or Morrissey rocking it out, and a brief history of the band.

I really like the Flemming Dalum edit of this, but can’t seem to find it. There’s an amazing Casionova mix on Soundcloud entitled, “Magic Mountain Mix”, which I really recommend that has the Dalum edit and songs of a similar vibe to rock out to. You can download that here. Alex Valentini’s site here. Label: [...]

Any tri-staters out there, go fund this movie now on Kickstarter. Seriously. It’s going to be great. They’ve included a raffle for the last 5 days (which is now 38 hours) to win a punk card skate deck, which is pretty sick looking.

Man, I can not wait for this to come out. David Cronenberg is one of my most favorite directors of all time. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender & Keira Knightley. The movie features the writer from Dangerous Liasons, which should make this even more epic. Coming November 2011.Wiki here. A Dangerous Method is an upcoming [...]
