Welcome to the new BBC blog format

Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been almost two years of posting, and I’ve really enjoyed chronicling and sharing some of the things I’ve found of interest. Over the past month and a half, I re-did the whole blog so it’s cleaner and easier to read. I also added some better support for commenting [...]

Amazing San Francisco tooth pick sculpture

It’s San Francisco, but made out of 100,000 toothpicks by artist Scott Weaver, and ping pong balls can actually roll through the sculpture. Would like to see this. I don’t know how people have the attention span to make something this amazing. Check the video to see the ping pong ball tour. Mor info here. [...]

Moca Crackdown? Space Invader and Revok arrested

Just came back from LA, where we saw the fully amazing “Art in the Streets” show at the MOCA, which has been getting amazing reviews from the public. Just read yesterday, that two of the artists: Revok and Space Invader were arrested. Wonder if the LAPD is mad about the show’s reception… The Los Angeles [...]

The New Dance Show – 1990s Detroit techno dancing

This is sick, super hot dancing – The New Dance Show from Detriot. From Wikipedia: The New Dance Show was a television show in Detroit which ran in the late-1980s to mid-1990s on WGPR-TV 62 (now a CBS affiliate known as WWJ-TV). Hosted by R.J. Watkins, The New Dance Show was a low-budget local version of Soul Train and featured regular [...]

Can’t get enough of this track… Obscure new wave from Amsterdam c.1982, played on Cosmic Overdrive ep.100.

Modular Cat Gym Bookshelf

Pretty neat design to house both books and cats by Corentin Dombrecht. Not sure I’d trust my cats to not turn the books into brand new scratching posts but this is such a cool idea. Via laughing squid. There’s also a demo video here.

The Miracles Club – “Church Song”

Some hipsters displaying some really nice dance moves. Love the retro video feel, reminds me of some older videos I’ve seen on YouTube of the early detroit scene. WTF is up with the dancing goat?

Nice Gawker write ups on Facbook and Twitter

Some nice reading on Gawker about the over-importance of Facebook in brand’s reaching consumers, as well as a slam on the recent $22 million dollar Twitter tax cut, which really makes me sick. “Nobody Actually Likes Your Brand’s Stupid Facebook Page.” Link here. What could be a more powerful marketing tool than Facebook, fostering meaningful [...]

Clio – Eyes (1984)
